Read it, I think it is very interesting.. hahahha... Well, at least my teacher thinks it is a good paper.

Astronomy and the Movie: Zathura

In today’s massive growing world of entertainment, more and more astronomical elements are being used as a way to entertain the viewers. Movies and television shows are made based on the ideas of space, astronomical catastrophe like a huge asteroid smashing into the face of the earth and killing millions (i.e. the movie Deep Impact), intergalactic wars among humans or between humans and other intelligent life forms (i.e. the famous trilogy, Star Wars), and many more. I really love watching movies but I think movies should be made entertaining as well as educational. There is no reason why science fiction cannot be made entertaining as well as informative about the things we do not experience and see in our everyday lives especially astronomy. However, movie producers only have one thing in mind and that is to make their movies as entertaining as possible to earn lots of money. To reach this goal, they are willing to bend the truth about science in every ways possible. One of the movie that I watched recently that fits the above criteria is Zathura: A Space Adventure.

Zathura is a movie about two boys, Danny and Walter, who went into a space adventure. It all started when the younger brother, Danny, found a space-adventure board game called Zathura in the basement of their new house. It turned out that the board game is magical and whenever a turn is taken by pressing a button, the token which is a spaceship, moves on the squares of the board and a card will pop out. Whatever it is on the card will happen in reality. So when the younger brother took the first turn, the first card popped up and it said ‘Meteor Shower, Take Evasive Action’. As they were reading it, a small meteor of a size of a ping pong ball went through the ceiling of the living room and the card and into the floor. Then the whole house started shaking and there was a meteor shower so the kids had to take cover inside the fireplace. The meteor shower destroyed the whole living room including the ceiling but miraculously the rest of the house was unharmed. This is a misrepresentation of meteor shower here. Meteor shower, also known as meteor storm or meteor outburst ‘is a celestial event where a group of meteors are observed to radiate from one point in the sky’(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meteor_shower). When a comet goes around the sun, it leaves a stream of debris particles along the orbit of the comet. When the earth atmosphere comes close to these stream of particles, their friction with the air causes them to burn and vaporize ‘leaving a streak of light that very quickly disappears’. That is what meteor shower really is. Meteor shower almost never hit the earth because of their small sizes; they disintegrate due to friction almost immediately after coming in contact with the atmosphere. Those which did hit the earth are no longer called meteor showers but are called meteorites. The common misunderstanding of meteor shower is due to the interpretation of its name literally: meteors from space showering down the sky, hitting the earth and cause chaos. That is exactly how this movie misrepresents meteor shower, meteors falling down and destroyed the whole living room.

Going back to the movie, after the meteor shower incident, Danny opened the door of the house and found out that they were in outer space. Their house with a little piece of land beneath it, was actually traveling along the outer edge of the rings of Saturn. One of the scene shows a boulder, almost the size of their house, flew past by their house. This is actually not true as the rings of Saturn are actually ‘composed of particles that are mostly ice crystals’ (http://csep10.phys.utk.edu/astr161/lect/saturn/rings.html). However, in the movie, they showed that the rings of Saturn are consist of chunks of rocks of all sizes. In that scene, a moon is also noticeable above the rings. This moon must be one of the two ‘shepherd moons’ that keep the outer ring in place by their gravitational force. When the elder brother, Walter, stepped outside the porch, he spat into space and his saliva float towards Saturn. Nevertheless, nothing within the house’s boundaries was floating in the air or flying away to space. Everything was intact to the house as though there was a gravity on the house. I would assume the same gravity also kept the air intact to the house because they were breathing fine. There are many things that are not true here. First of all, there is no air in space. That is why astronauts need air supply when they go to space. A thing as light as a house does not have enough gravity to retain its own atmosphere. Even the gravity of our moon which is so much heavier than the house is not strong enough to retain an atmosphere. What is gravity? Newton’s law of universal gravitation states that ‘every particles in the Universe attracts every other particle with a force that is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them’(Physics for Scientist and Engineers, pg 390). Since Saturn’s gravity is much stronger than the house’s gravity, the house will actually fall towards Saturn. But as the movie showed that the house is orbiting around Saturn along the edge of the ring of Saturn, this mean that the house is not falling directly towards Saturn but around it. The force of gravity acts as a centripetal force that caused the house to orbit around Saturn. Therefore, if the house is falling around Saturn, everything in the house will feel weightless as how the people in the elevator will feel weightless when the cable snapped and they are free falling. So by law of nature, everything in the house should be floating.

Then, Danny and Walter went back to the board game because they reckon that if they want to go back to earth, they must win the game. When Walter took his turn, the card popped out and say ‘Your Robot Is Defective’. Suddenly a robot appears out of nowhere and started attacking them. They ran around the house hiding and dodging from being killed by the robot. In the midst of all these excitement, Danny took his turn in hope that something on the card will stop the killer robot. The card popped out, and everything in the house began to move and fall to one side of the house. And then the scene shows that the house was moving very near a star-like planet and some parts of the house was torn away and flew towards the planet. Apparently, what was on the card was ‘You Pass Too Close To Tsouris-3, Enter Gravity Field. ‘. On a side note, if something is not moving fast enough past a planet, it will be pulled towards the planet by gravity. The boys nearly fell out of the house into space but they held onto something. However, the robot fell into the basement and malfunctioned. Walter took his turn and he was promoted to a fleet admiral and his spaceship token moved 4 spaces ahead. When Danny took his turn, the card read ‘You are visited by Zorgons’. Soon enough, there was a spaceship and it started shooting at the house with its cannons. Again, hoping that it will help, Walter took his turn and he got a ‘Reprogram’ card. He tried to reprogram the spaceship but to no avail, the shooting did not stop. Then Danny took his turn again, and the card said ‘Rescue Stranded Astronaut’. When they look outside the window, an astronaut from space flew towards the house and slammed onto the window. They were scared and did not open the window but the astronaut let himself in through the front door. As it turned out, the astronaut was a good guy. He noticed the Zorgon’s spaceship problem so he told them to turn off all the lights, heater and put out the fire in the house because the Zorgons are outer space creatures who feed on fire. So they did, and the Zorgons went away.

A few more spaces left and they will win the game. And the astronaut was there to help them. Walter then took his turn and a golden card popped out and said ‘Shooting Star, Make a wish as it passes’. Minutes later, a boulder that was really bright like a fireball except that its fire was blueish white, slowly flew passed their house. It was the shooting star. As it passed, Walter closed his eyes and made his wish. Instead of wishing to go home or game over, he wised for a football signed by a famous player. The shooting star has been and still is misrepresented by the media. The name itself has fooled millions of kids, even adults. I remember when I was young, I thought that shooting stars are stars that fly by the earth and from what I saw on television, people always make a wish when they see a shooting star. A shooting star is actually a luminous path created by ‘large sand to boulder-sized particle’ of debris from outer space that enters the earth’s atmosphere and burns out very quickly because of the friction with the air.(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meteoroid) It is not a fiery ball that travels through space like what is pictured in this movie Zathura. In addition, from what I said earlier, space does not have air, so there is no friction between the boulder and air to ignite it and there is no oxygen to sustain the burning. What is depicted by this movie is totally for entertainment only and contains no educational purposes at all but rather information that isn’t true.

Skipping ahead a little of the movie, Danny took the last turn and his token reached the finish line. There were a little sparkles that came out of the board and then a card popped out and said ‘Game Over, Thank you for playing’. Nothing else happened and just when they thought that was it, the wall of the house was tore away and was sucked into a black hole. The black hole has a funny shape and fire around it as thought it was burning. The black hole is actually a very complicated theory. A black hole is said to occur when a star that is three times greater than the mass of the sun will collapse forever under its own gravity because nothing can stop the core from doing that.(Voyages to Stars and Galaxies, pg 344). The gravity of a black hole is so strong that the escape velocity is greater than the speed of light. The gravity also ‘curved spacetime’ that the collapsing star ‘has become trapped in its own pocket of spacetime from which there is no escape’(pg 346). Everything inside the black hole that tries to escape will end up going in a circular path and therefore not even light can escape from the black hole. Thus there is no light emitted by this collapsing star and therefore is invisible to the eyes which is why it is called black hole. It is also assumed that the black hole will take a spherical shape. The real theoretical black hole is so much different from the black hole depicted by the movie which has a funny shape and seems to be burning. The house was slowly torn apart and sucked into the black hole. Then Walter was sucked into it and when Danny was nearly sucked into it as well, he closed his eyes and when he opened it, everything was back to normal, to the time before the first turn was taken on the board game. That was the end of the movie.

In summary, Zathura is a really bad movie that projects a lot of bad astronomical information. I find the movie not entertaining at all and has very poor educational values for those who has little knowledge about astronomy.

Interesting? Told you so... So like I said last quarter was hell because of physics. that teacher, Marasco is a brilliant man, and he was my physics teacher and a very very hard teacher. Made my life a living hell last quarter for 3 months because of his class. Me and Rana built a bed of nails as extra credit in his class. We had to buy plywood, make measurements, draw lines, drill holes and nail 5 inch nails into the board. Its hardwork, seriously! Whats the use of this bed of nails? You lay on it and it wont pierce or hurt you. Hehehe. Its not as scary as it look. Anyway, good shit, that extra credit helped me and Rana get an A in his class. Oh this project cost me 36 US$ just for the nails.

I still remmember back in primary school there is this guy said that he is invisible and put out a show. He lie on a bed of nails. I was really amazed. Now I know its all lies! Even i can do it, anyone can. Haha

OMG!! A nite in SF

So, I havent update my blog for like nearly 2 months liau. Hahaha... Was too freaking busy and lazy, as usual. Damn, how come my parents born me with a lazy ass?!! Anyway, I will try to write what have been up with me for the past 2 months....

Lets start with 2 weeks bfr thanksgiving. Two of my friends, Juanri(Indo) and Brian(Brunei), had a birthday, so they join- venture and treat their freinds, 10+ ppl, to a dinner in a Japanese cafe in San Francisco. The dinner was at 6 till 8, they had to make a reservation for the place, but we -- me,Rio, Alex, Thomas and the birthday boy Brian -- only began to go at 6 in one car.... zzz. ... obviously we were very late. On top of that, there was traffic. Preety bad traffic cuz it was a Saturday nite and everyone wanted to go the city. The worse thing is that we can only eat untill 8 pm and then we have to leave, and it takes 45 minutes to go to SF but with the heavy traffic and the car moving at 35mph, God knows how long! Juanri and his geng had already arrived and started eating. Anyway, took us 1 hour and 15 minutes to reach Japan Town in SF where the cafe is located and another 15 minutes to look for parking space and the cafe. Zzz... So by the time we reach and sit down and eat, it was already 7.30pm and he had literally half hour to eat! It was something like a buffet steamboat where you put vegetables and beef into the soup and eat them, you can eat them just like that or you can dip them in peanut sauce or japanese soya sauce, and the waitresses just kept refilling the vege and the beef. So I makan lah and after 20 minutes I got sicked of beef already cuz I ate so much. hahahha. 3 other people were suppose to come but they arrived in Japan Town at 8, damn slackers, so Juanri asked them not to come cuz there were no time to eat already so they went and had dinner on their own nearby. At the end of dinner, they served us ice creams and then we ciao.

Then we went nearby, we stand around talking and take pictures. Actually there were kinda like two groups that nite, one is Juanri group and another is the group I came with. Among these people, only me, Brian, and Thomas (Myanmar) are not Indos while the rest are. We all know each others just that some people are closer and some are not, well you know how it is. And they all freaking speak Indo when they are talking so I really dont understand what they talking about so I was very sien, I hardly talk. Lucky got 2 more who doesnt speak Indo so I wasnt alone and Alex and Rio stayed with us. After awhile we called it a night, Juanri and his group went back and we met up with the slackers, Owen, his gf Sheila, and 'Small' Chris. Talked for half hour deciding where to go and finally we decide to hang out in Ghirardelli Square.
Ghirardelli is a famous chocolate brand like Hersheys and Cadbury. The place is actually a tourist attraction in Fisherman's Wharf where there are stores and other things.

The whole group...

Brian, Thomas, Me, Rio and Alex

Anyway, we went there, past through Fisherman Wharf and it was so quiet cuz all the shops were closed and there were no people around, so unusual when compare to daytime. When we reached, the line in the ice cream shop was long, yeah there were actually alot of people at that place at night, so we walked around and took pictures first. After there was no more line, we ordered ice-creams in the cold night and sat down, ate and talked. Some of my frens bought chocolates. After awhile another group of people came. Remember the incident on Halloween night, where we went to fetch two girls in Oakland and got lost? So it was this two girls again, Mary and Benedact, and their frens. Apparently they were nearby and Chris asked them to come, he wants to chase Benedact. So they sat down and we talked for awhile and decide what to do next.... and they decided to go sing karaoke. Problem is Alex and Brian didnt want to go but Rio wanna go and it was his car that we came here with. Me, I dint mind going to karaoke or going home to sleep, either way works for me. So there were alot of debate whether to go or not, Thomas and Rio kept persuading them to go but they really dont want to. Brian dint want to go home late cuz his brother will scold and Alex dont like singing. Rio really wanted to because he wants to see Benedact sing... hahahahha. After nearly 20 minutes decideing, sien!, Alex and Brian decided to tag along unwillingly. They said that they are gonna wait in the car or walk around while everyone else is inside singing. -_-! Swt! Anyway, while walking to go get the car in the car park, Rio, nice guy, say he also dont want to go lah so that Alex and Brian can go home. Thomas went with Owen cuz he want to karaoke. I went with Rio they all cuz I wanted to sleep and save some money :D So thats how the night ended. Quite an interesting nite, yet, truthfully, I was actually preety bored and moody the whole nite. :P

Alex, Chris, Brian, Owen, Sheila, Me and Thomas

Halloween

Alright, I am suppose to write this half a month ago, but, you know, I am always procrastinating. Anyway, that halloween weekend, when all the halloween party is held, I dressed up as a doctor and my friend, Andrew, brought me to crash a party. He dressend up as Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean. Woah, he look damn real. Too bad dint have a picture of him. Anyway, we went to Santa Clara Uni and met up with his friend. He dressed as the guy from the tv show House. So later that night, we walked around the uni campus. There were alot people walking around as well and we get to see alot of wicked costume. By wicked costume I actually mean women wearing slutty costume, i.e, nurse, cowgirl, fairy, policewoman and etc. Best!!!
Anyway, there were quite a number of party going around the campus at that time, music were booming everywhere. While we were walking on the street there was a girl that was so drunk that she just come hug Andrew's friend. Hahaha. So finally we crash a party but could not stay long cuz Andrew had to go back to take care of his sick girlfriend. That was a very fun and a new experience night for me. :P Too bad i cant bring camera and snap pictures at the party.

On Halloween , Tuesday, Diane put up the Halloween decoration. She carved two pumpinks and make two 'people' sitting outside the house. Very nice! And she get ready the candies for tricker treating. Children started coming to get candy at 7pm at night. Wearing costumes and walking from house to house to get candy, damn, I wish I was a kid here. While waiting for kid's to come, I was also eating the chocolate and sweets. Later, I carved a small pumpkin togather with Chris. Quite hard to carved leh, nearly cut my finger. LOL. wah, my pumpkin looked so good after I put it outside in the dark and lit it up with 2 candles in it.

Made by Diane.

The house

Chris's pumpkin of left, mine is on the right.

The house

At 11pm, my asians friends come and fetch me to bring me to SF. Apparently they wanted to hang out in Castro street cuz on Halloween, thousands of people just wear their coustume and hang out in that street. oh, Castro in SF is actually a gay neighbourhood. I went with my sis once and I was scared the shit out of me. Guys were holding hands and walking everywhere there. But on Halloween, everybody, not just the gays, hang out there. So, yea me and friends wanted to that but I dont know what they do untill so late only we went. anyway, there were two cars going. A Mercedes and a Nissan, freaking rich Indonesians. I was in the Nissan and we were to follow the Mercedes (they have the GPS) to pickup 2 girls first in Oakland bfr going to SF. Walauwei, with GPS also they got lost and had to make alot of unnecessary detour. And at one point, the Mercedes went so fast around the corner and took an exit that we lost sight of him. So we got lost in Oakland and dint know where to go. So we stop at a place, called the frens in the Merce and tell them the address where we were so that they can find us to lead us to SF again. After 45 min, finally they came. Everybody in the car very very beh syiok liau. After misleading us again, twice, into a resident area instead of SF, we got fed up, asked them to give us the GPS and let us lead instead. So, I read the GPS and direct my fren who was driving. We got to Castro without trouble! FinallY! By the time we reach SF it was already 1.30 am, we actaully can reach SF at 12.30am if it wasnt for all the trouble we ran into. By that time, everyone have cleared from the street and only the police left, people cleaning the street, and mostly gays who were still partying outside bars and clubs. Saw alot of gay guys dressing in women costumes.. So scary! Guess when i go back to Sitiawan, no need go aqua hunting liau in lumut. hahhahaha

In Castro they decide to go Fisherman Wharf to find a place to eat. So we went, took us more time than usual cuz the police block some roads so we have to take some detours. Anyway, reach Fisherman Wharf at 2.30am and everything was freaking close, go figured! Anyway, luckily my smart friends suggest we go eat at Denny's which is open 24 hours. Search in the GPS and luckily there is one near Fisherman Wharf, only 5 min away. So we makan and talked in Denny's. Halfway eating, a group of people came into the restaurant and they were still in costume, probably just off from a party. There three women and they, as usual, were in very slutty costume. I still remember there was one dressed up as a bunny. I am telling you, US can see alot things in Malaysia cannot see. LOL. We went home at 3.30am and I went to bed at 5am.
Freaking thing is, that morning I got class at 10am, thank god only 1 class, and i have to wake up at 8am. So i slept for three hours only, when i woke up, i can still taste the toothpaste in my mouth. hahhahaha. Damn it I was so tired that day!!! Couldnt really think straight. But I still can pay attention in class, do my quiz and got full marks(luckily not too hard of a quiz), study with my chemistry classmates for our lab quiz the next day from 1.30pm till 5pm, when i got back, i study again and only slept at midnight! Chun or not?!!! Thank God I got A for my very hard lab quiz! hahahahaha... That was my first halloween in US. :P

My New Hair Cut

So I went for a hair cut last monday near my place. Took me 15 minutes to cycle there. Oh yah, that morning I woke up at 8.30 am and it was sooo foggy outside... When I looked out the window as soon as I open my eyes, I only see white colour... Scared me nia! lol

So back to my haircut; I told the aunty, I think she is Thai from the language she spoke, I want my hair to be short and spiky. She say ok... and start cutting. I cant really see what was going on with my hair without my specs so I just laid back and let her do her job.. At the end when I put on my glasses only I realized she cut my hair botak and make my head look so round!! @#$%
I see already also nothing to say so i just pay her 11bucks and gave her 1 dollar tips and got the hell out of there.. Am not gonna go there anymore!!
So now my hair look like this:

Fall 2006...

I wanted to write this like 3 weeks ago... hahaha... Anyway, started my fall quater on September 25th. The day after my birthday. Hahaha. So Wednesday that week, my host family brought me out for dinner to celebrate my birthday. We had chinese food at a Chinese restaurant near my place. The food is damn good! But sure cant beat Malaysia's chinese food lah. And after dinner, we went home and they got a cake for me! Chocolate decken cake or something.. the whole cake is pratically made out of chocolate! So delicious! Anyway, they lit up the candles and sang me a birthday song.. and gave me a card! Seriously, my host family damn nice!

So here is how my schedule for fall quarter. On Monday 10 am-12pm, I have Math 1A class. Its a calculus class. So it is like going through form 4 all over again but this time I learned it in more detail. Like how the idea of derivative came up. What is limit? What is a continuous function? Why certain points of a certain graph cant be derive? More on theory than pratical! In high school we just learn how to dy/dx, now its like learn what is derivative, why is it like that and alot whole more of theory stuff.... So on Monday I only have math class.

On tuesday, I have English 1B at 8 am. So I have to wake up 6.40 am in the morning to get rdy. And now that it is fall, it is so cold to wake up in the morning. Anyway, for English class, I took back my last English class teacher, the one that gave me C on every essays (read my first post). Crazy right? Well, I guess I take him again cuz he doesnt require to write an in-class essay, and I am quite farmiliar with his style, and best of all, I can rewrite my essays as many times to get a better grade! So yeah I took him, and the his standard of essays has been raised, well, since it is a higher level english class, I guess that makes sense. Anyway, English 1A required to write a 4-5 page eesays. Now, in English 1B, we have to write 7-9 pages of essay! So damn crazy.
So, our first essay assignment is read a play called Waiting for Godot and others essays that was written by other writers about this play. Then we have to write a 7-9 pages of essays about the significant of Waiting for Godot. Holy shit~~ Anyway, this is a part of my essay, the first page:

Waiting for Godot was written by Samuel Beckett, initially in French, in1948, after the Second World War. The play was then published in French in 1952 and first staged in Paris in 1953. The play was later translated into English and staged in London in 1955 and the United State in 1956. Since then, the play has been produced world wide and is one of the most famous play in the 19th century world of theater. It is one of the most written-about play of all time. What makes Waiting for Godot such a significant work is that the techniques that Beckett uses to produced the play are new modes in theatrics.

The innovation of Samuel Beckett has brought a revelation to the world of theater. His new modes in theatrics has made Waiting for Godot one of the most famous, written, and talked about play in the 20th century. With the removal of a conventional plot in this play, as according to William Hutchings in his essay Waiting for Godot and the Principle of Uncertainty, "Waiting for Godot deliberately confounds the conventional expectation of its audience" (26), it erases any presumption of its audience for a typical plot of a play: a beginning, a conflict, a resolution followed by a happy ending. Indeed, Waiting for Godot lacks all that, a conventional plot expected from all plays. As a matter of fact, the plays plotlessness and vague theme leave questions on its audience of what is going to happen next, what Beckett’s message is, and what is the meaning of the play (26). Waiting for Godot is written and staged in such a way that instead of conveying the messages to the audience with the play, the audience has to search their way to find the messages, which are naked to the eyes, in the play. However, the absents of a conventional plot creates an endless uncertainty in the play – who is Godot and will he come? And if he does come, how will he affect Vladimir and Estragon – that opens the play to a ‘seemingly endless variety of interpretation’ (27) which makes this play so significant. In addition, Lois Gordon, in his essay The Existential Dimension, wrote that, "with the repeated absence of denouement in the enacted scenarios . . . . Beckett creates a never ending series of incomplete plays within the larger drama" (62). Waiting for Godot, in both of its two acts, ends without a conclusion or resolution, the appearance of Godot, which makes the whole story to repeat itself; Vladimir and Estragon are waiting for Godot. As a result, the audience ponders and wonders what happens after that, – will Godot ever come? What happens the day after? – an interpretation by themselves of what happens after the play and the answers to the questions left hanging by the play. Those are what make the play so meaningful and special.

Good thing is that, I got back my paper today, and I got a B for that paper!! Hahaha. So happy cuz all my previous have always fetch a C for me the first time I turn it in!

So English class is from 8 to 10 am.. And then I have chemistry from 10am till 2.30pm. From 10am till 11.30am is lecture and then I have lab from 12 till 2.30pm. Yea, it is a long day! So this chem class is Chem 1B, another level higher than the chem class I took in spring quarter. Chem 1B is so mcuh harder than chem 1A. At least in chem 1A, a little bit I have learn bfr. But in Chem 1B, I have never learn the stuffs bfr. Like the first 2 chapters that we have study for the past few weeks is Molecular Geometry and Bonding Theories, and Chemical Kinetics. Really hard concepts! Good thing is some of the people I took chem1A with is also in this class. So at least I have friends to work togather on problems and assignments!

So wednesday is same with monday and thursday is same with tuesday. Even though it is a long day on tueday and thurday, I really like it cuz the classes are fun. My math teacher is kinda sucks. Compared to my last math teacher, he is nothing. He does not teaches that good. And the class is so boring. On friday, I have english and math class, 1 hour each.

So yea, that is practically whats going on with me this fall.

I wanna go back home for christmas!!! From my place to LA is about 300plus miles. Takes about 6 hours if you drive 75-80 miles/hour. At 1.30am we reach our hotel, Hyatt, which is on the same street as Disneyland and only 10 minutes drive away. Just as we turn into the hotel's parking ground, I saw a group of chicks wearing super sexy clothes walking. Turns out there is a nightclub just beside the hotel and the parking area. So yea, there were alot of hot chicks around the parking ground that night. But damn, do I hate being an underage in this country...! Turning 18 soon but what the hell else can I do besides buying Playboy.... Hahahaha..
So John got us a room which has 2 queen size bed and the 5 of us slept in that room. Wat to do, wanna save money mah. So John and Lilian slept in one bed and me, my sis and Caroline slept on another. Damn sesak cuz my sis not that small size. Hahahaha.... By the time we went to bed, it was already 2.30am.....

The Hyatt Hotel
---------------------------------------------------------

The next morning, we woke up at 8am and got ready to go to Disneyland. John and Lilian who went there before said that they were gonna go later and continued sleeping. So me, my sis and Caroline went down to the lobby and took the free shuttle to go to Disneyland. From the drop of point to the entrance of the park is already 5 minutes walk. So can you imagine how big Disneyland is? We went through a security check -just incase some Alahlalalala tries to bom Disneyland- bought the entrance ticket, US$ 80 for 2 parks for a day. Yea there are 2 parks, the one on the right is the old and original Disneyland, and the one on the left is the new park where there are newer and scarier rides. So we went to the old park first. Got the map and the schedule of shows at the entrance and learned that the park closes at midnight. Since the tickets were so expensive, we decided to stay till midnight. Hahahaha

The new park~~ The Cinderella Castle~~

Just as we walk in the entrance there lies a train station. Probably the train takes you around the park. We walked around the station and there we were, at the small town of Disneyland. Damn neat! The town looks like old western town like that, but they are all shops and mostly souvenir shops. From the town is a straight road that leads to the castle, the Cinderella castle, you know, the one that we always see when we watch disney cartoon or movie. Around the castle are different different parts of the theme park. We went to our right first.

The first part we went~~ Nice eh~~

Our first ride is the Star Wars ride. Its like motion master where you sit in a chair and look at the screen and the chair moves. Only waited 15 minutes in line for this ride. Probably it was too early and there weren't many people. The ride was nice, felt really real. Next we went to the Toy Story ride. This time, we dont even need 5 minutes for the ride. You know why? Cuz it is a stupid ride where you sit in this moving thing which can spin and shoot non-motion-mostly-cardboard made monsters and get points. Funny thing is I dint know that untill halfway of the ride when Caroline asked me what was my point. Hahahahahaha... Anyway, it was a ride I would enjoy if I was younger.

After that we went for the Space Mountain ride. Dint know wat was it about cuz the ride was in a building. This time have to line up for half and hour. When I found out that it was kinda roller coster ride, I got scared and anxious cuz I am afraid of roller coaster rides and have been avoiding them since my trip to Sunway Lagoon when I was 10. Turned out the ride wasnt so bad. It was actually very nice. It was a very high speed ride where you feel like you are in space with air constantly blowing on your face with small ups and downs and big connerings. Next we went to Autopia where we drive car that goes at a speed of I-walk-even-faster and we are not allowed to bump into other cars. Another thing I would enjoy if I was a kid.

Autopia~~ Tea Cup~~ DizzY!

Then we moved on to another part of the park, the Fantasy Land. Here are all the kiddies ride. Well, on the way over, we saw ppl queing up to take pictures with Aeriel, real person, the character from little mermaid. The line was too long so we past on that. At fantasy land we went for the Tea Cup ride. You know, the one where you sit in a tea cup that spins and spins.. After that ride, I got super dizzy my head was hurting like I got a sun stroke. Anyway, after the tea cup we went to Its A Small World ride. Ok, this one hands down is the most boring one. You sit in a boat in a stream that goes into this erm building and see the dolls moves with the Small World music constantly playing. Drove us nuts!

The frigging Small World castle~~ Toon Town~~

After that we went to another part, Toon Town. And we went on another spinning ride which makes my headaches worst and a short, 30 seconds, small roller coaster ride. A 30 minutes wait for a 30 seconds ride.. Hmm, rugi business....
Then we have our lunch there. We decide to have hotdog. Wtf, it was super freaking cut throat expensive!!! 7 bucks for a lousy, miserable, dont taste good hotdog with rotten bread and some onions and a tiny small bag of potato chips! 3 dollars more for a non-refillable drink! Anyway, coincidently we met John and Lilian there who were also having lunch.

Freaking $7 hotdog~~! Pirates of the Carribean~~

After lunch we split up again. My sis and Carol wanted to take pcitures with Minnie Mouse but the line was super long and under the hot sun so I told them "dont want lah, come back again in the evening" cuz I didnt think my headache would stand a half hour wait under the sun. So we moved on and went to another part. There we went for the ride called Rolling Thunder, fast connering roller coaster. It was fun! At that point, I wasnt afraid of small roller coaster already! Hahaha. Then we waited in line for Pirates of Carribean. A boat ride looking at pirates, boats, burning town, and other things. Everything was nicely done. Looked almost real. After the boat ride, we went to the Haunted Mansion.. Just sit in a moving chair and looking at scarry stuffs and settings. Everything was nicely dont as well although not scarry. Probably I too old already.
Next we went to Splash Mountains. Sit inside a boat that drops down from a very high place. Sunway Lagoon also have. This ride was super popular. Had to wait 1 hour plus. But it was worth it cuz it was fun! Oh yah, Caroline who sat in front was soaked wet! and she was freezing cold cuz when the boat drop to the water, the water splashes on us. Hahahaha. I got abit water on me as well.... So fun. Wanted to go to the Winnie the Pooh ride but the line was too long and we thought it would be a kiddie ride.

Inside the Pirates Carribean~~ Haunted Mansion~~

Splash Mountain~~! The singing birds of Tiki Tiki Room~~

So we went to yet another part of the park. This time is was the Indiana Jones ride. We sat in a car going through monsters and "piu yee". Fun! Then we went to the Tiki Tiki Room. We dint know wat the hell that was at first. Rupa-rupanya its mechanical birds singing. And the funny part is the rest of the audience were singing along. Crazy Ah Mo! Hahaha.... So boring that we cabut halfway the show! Then John called and say that there were gonna be a parade at the small town at 6pm. So we went back to the town. It was only 5.15 and ppl were already sitting on the sidewalk waiting for the parade. Unbelievable! So went into a shop, look around, bought something, came back out and wait for the parade. By 6, the street were full and i mean full if people. The parade turned out not bad: Disney characters on moving decorated car, people dancing, and not surprisingly music.

The street, alot people eh!~~ The town~~!

                                                                       The Parade~!

The Castle at night!~~ Tons of ppl~!

At around 7+, we went out of the old Disneyland, and went in to the new park. Walked in another town which made to be like Hollywood town. Went to the Tower of Terror to get the fast pass, the pass that will not required you to wait in line but you can only use it 1 hour after you get the pass..... So Tower of Terror is like Genting Highland Solero Shot except that you sit in a lift in a building, a hotel to be more precise, and just like Solero, its sudden accelaration upwards and sudden free fall drop! I told Caroline that I wont go on that ride and my sis as well. But she kept pujuk me to teman her to go on the ride and said that we no fun that I said see first. After we got the fast pass, we went to the Monster Inc. ride where you sit in a moving taxi and look at Monster Inc. monsters and sets.

The Hollywood Town~ Monster Inc.~~

After that we went to this boat ride. There were no line for this ride cuz only a few ppl were going in it. The ride is people sitting in a circle in a boat that bumps alot at the side, spins around quite often, and splashes into the water from a high place, not as high as Splash Mountain though. It was fun but we were soaking wet! And that time was already night so we were freezing cold. The constant wind blowing dint help at all. Probably that was why no one was going on that ride.So we dried ourselves off with tissue papers. Yea, it helped a little. Next we went to this flight simulation where you sit in a chair a few feet of the ground and looked at a giant screen in front of you and view all the beautiful sceneries of beautiful places in California from the air.

The flight simulation~~

Then came my worst nightmare, Tower of Terror. I agreed to teman Caroline to go on the ride. My sis waited outside with all our belongings. Woah, I was so scared and anxious! While going in and waiting in line for awhile, I kept whinning to Caroline how scared I am and why she made me do this! Hahahha. The only thing that calmed me and I bluff myself that it wasnt that scary was that some on the people brought their young ones on the ride as well. I am talking as young as 4 or 5 years old. While we were waiting outside of the lift to go in, they showed us a small video first, storyline, about last time the lift was build then suddenly drop down from high level killing many people. Bloodyfool, that made my anxiety and fear worse! While we were strapped down to the sit, I was still whinning to Carol. A young teenage girl, probably 12 or 13, who had waited in line with us and was sitting beside of me had to tell me that the ride wasnt that scary! Guess she heard all my whinning. How embarrassing was that?!! -_-!
So this was how the ride goes. First the lift went up a few floors, I think 4. In front of us was a mirror. Can see the image of us. Then the image sudddely turned into ghost-like. Then the image dissapear and behind the image there was another image of people in a lift suddenly drop down at high speed! Someone behind me said here we go and true enough the lift suddenly drop down! I screamed like crazy! Then it went up again in high speed to the highest floor and dropped down again for a few floor and went up again to the highest floor. The door opened and we can see the view of Disneyland. At that point, I was already scared the shit out of my pants! After a few seconds at the top floor, the lift dropped 2 - 3 levels, stopped half a second, and dropped again all the way to the lowest floor! That were the longest few seconds of my life! I opened my mouth like my soul wanna get out of my body! When we got out of the lift and went to look at the picture, they usually have camera to capture the moment and sell the picture, I saw most of the people have their hands up on the air! Wat the hell! All the time of the ride, I was pushing myself down to the chair with my hands and legs and the Ah MoS had their hands in the air?!! Wat the HELL?!! My whole body was abit weak from that ride! even writing abt this gave sweats to my palm!

Tower of Terror! Nightshot!

When we got out of the Tower of Terror, my sis told us that some lady told her that the park was closing soon as it was 9am+. Couldnt believe the lady and thought that Disneyland closes at 12am, we went into a shop and I asked a cashier. And she told us that that park closes at 9pm. Then only we knew that the old Disneyland closes at midnight and the new park closes at 9pm. Quite angry and dissapointed cuz alot rides more we havent go on in that new park. Lucky for me to cuz Caroline was gonna go on to the big and I mean big roller coaster. So we went out and went into the old Disneyland again to watch the fireworks show at 9.25pm.

The fireworks show was great! It was better than usual cuz this year is the 50th birthday. Really so nice the fireworks. Some are so bright that it pratically lit the whole night! And the street in the town was filled packed with people from 1 end to another! It was a traffic jam after the show was over. Went to some shops bfr heading back to the shuttle service to go back to the hotel. By the time we reached, it was already 10.30+ and we hadnt had our dinner yet! Was super hungry and was hoping John would drive us somewhere to get dinner! 2 minutes came in the door, John and Lilian came back. Asked John but he said he was tired and lazy and asked us to find food downstairs. Went down and was glad Pizza Hut was opened. Bought a personal pizza and some buffolo style chicken wings for 5 bucks each. Ate, shower, and went to bed at around 12am. That was my day of Disneyland day! :D The next day was Universal Studio!

San Francisco Day,2nd Spetember 2006

ok so, i was suppose to write this last 1 and a half weeks ago... but guess wat?
i was too freaking lazy, as usual....

so that day was a sundau morning and yeah we were going to San Francisco...
john, lilian, caroline, my sis and i all sit in john's car and he was driving.....
set out at around 10am.... takes 30-45 minutes to get to SF from my place.... but john got lost and had to make a few detour.... luckily US road system is not like malaysia's, the road here are so much straighter and there are clear signs everywhere...... so john with the ever so much help from lilian, :P, got back on track and found the way to Fishermans Wharf.....
at first, john scared no parking space at Pier 39, so he parked at a place nearby, that was wat he thought.... but actually we were still a few miles away from Pier 39, super far.... as that was my 4th time going to Pier 39, i knew it was a long walk from our car... so i keep telling them we have to walk super far, lilian agreed, and after 10 minutes of walking, john ran back to get the car and came picked us up.... hahaha.. kelian him nia... anyway, it was a good thing cuz if we were to walk, had to walk for 45 minutes, give or take..... so finally we parked at a parking complex just opposite Pier 39.... there were so many cars that only the rooftop had space left....

so we walked to the pier and went to see the sealions first..... the first time i see the sealions i preety excited.... after awhile, they are just some fat ass-lazy-loud crying animal which sleeps the whole day at the dock.... took pictures of Alchatraz

Me, me sis and caroline. sealion at the back~~

Alchatraz at the back
and then went to a candy store at the pier...
they have so many types of candy there.... there were also snake shaped bubble gum, 1 meter ruler bubble gum and many other interesting stuff.... but they are all overpriced... i.e. the bubble gum cost 5bucks.. after that we went to a magnet store....

CAndy store~~ Look at the all the types of candy!

Magnet shop~~ All the magnets on the wall

as we continue walking, we pass a pearl shop. john then decided to buy caroline a pearl. for 15 bucks, you can choose a shell, oyster or watever the thing that has pearl in it is called, and the worker will open the shell for u and retrieve the pearl for you. so caroline chose one and bfr the asian aunty worker open the shell, she made us do a little welcoming ceremony for the pearl cuz she said it was brought fresh from Hawaii.... i forgot liau wat we have to do but i remmeber at the end we said aloha..very fei wan... hahaha.. so after she opened the shell, clean it with salt and polish it, she asked if caroline wanna make it into a necklace, ring or ear ring.... caroline said she like necklace so the aunty showed her a few shapes of ornaments to hold the pearl... when caroline ask how much are the ornaments, the aunty dont want tell but she said to pick the favourite ornament first.....so she picked one and the aunty say is US$85, if i can remmeber correctly... the aunty say the ornament is made of white-gold and she say that price is the cheapest you can get from anywhere...... but then john said that back in Malaysia is cheaper to make a pearl necklace but the aunty disagree cuz she said that she come from Hong Kong....
i guess the aunty do not know about or have never been to Malaysia cuz in Malaysia,we sell 3 movies for 10 ringgit ....hahahaha.... in the end, caroline end up with the pearl only....
after that we went to the chocolate store, Ghiradelli... Ghiradelli is one the best chocolate in the world....

The pearl~~

at lunch time, john treat us to lunch at Crab House which is located at Pier 39 also..... fooooo!, freking expensive!! 2 and a half crabs for 4 ppl cost US$100 bucks + tax !!! luckily they the crabs were enough to make them full.....
well, as for me who doesnt eat crabs, i ate Hawaiian fish fillet which cost 17 bucks.....

Lunch crab~~ but i dint eat crab! hahahaha

after lunch, we went out of Pier 39 and walk around Fishermans Wharf.... the were tons of ppl walking the street.... all around there were souvenir shops, restaurants, food stands, ferry services to tour around SF or to go Alchatraz, side-walk shows like beat-boxing, musicians, ppl who dressed and paint themselves like robots, and many more....all in all, it was very happenning at Firshermans Wharf, as usual.....

Fishermans Wharf

John, God bless him, wanted to bring me to Hooters! and thank God, there is one in Fishermans Wharf... so we all went there for a drink....for those who do not know what Hooters is, allow me to explain.... Hooters is a restaurant...... sounds normal??
NO!! all the waitresses there have boobs this big(now imagine me showing you how big they are) and they wear xtra small singlet and short-till-cant-short hot pants that have cutting at the sides so they look abit like underwear that shows their entire leg....... John said that the minimum breats size to work there is 36. (n-n) everything there in Hooters is big: the food, drinks and you know wat else....... :P I LOVE USA!!
when i walked in through the door and saw the waitresses, i felt my face burning hot... luckily blood dint flow out of my nose..! so we sat at a table and a blondie served us.... they ordered beer but i have to drink coke cuz the legal age to drink alcohol, go casino, stripclub, etc is 21 years old... damn sucks!
then John asked the waitress to take a picture with me! she said ok and asked another waitress to take picture along.... so i got one at each of my side... V <----- (the peace sign) my sis and caroline took picture with them as well...... when the bill came, the blondie said she charge 5 bucks for a picture... so john had to pay her 10 bucks for the 2 picture taken... makafulat~~!!! Freaking unbelievable!! after we left Hooters, we keep calling her dumb blonde... partly beh syiok and also cuz she is dumb..... keep asking stupid question about the walkie talkie we had and when asked her how to get to Golden Gate Bridge, she point at the map as if we do not know how to read a map.....

Holy Sweeeet~~~ I love USA

anyway, at 4pm, after Hooters we walked back to the parking complex as we were going to Golden Gate Bridge next..... when we reach at the car, john could not unlock the car using the remote control... so we thought the battery at the remote control died.... so he used the key to unlock the car but the alarm didnt go off.. so we suspected john left the lights on and caused the car battery to die and our worse was confirm when he tried to start the car but couldnt....! at that point everyone was like 'wat the hell!!' ..... we thought the trip was over becuase of that inciddent..... after thinking ways to rescue the day, john went to look for someone to jump start the car... after 10 minutes he came back with a couple from LA driving a pickup truck and jump start the car... thank God it worked! and thank God again that his car is hybrid and the battery recharge when on the road so we dint have to go to a workshop.... - or does every car recharge its own battery when driving?-

with the help of a map and my memory, we manage to reach Golden Gate Bridge... spend half an hour there taking pictures, walking the bridge(for 10 minutes nia) and going to toilet..... after that we drove to Lombard Street and drove down the crooked street.... :D after that we went to China Town and walked around.... not that hectic at night but the last time i went to China Town in the morning, it was packed and really looked and you felt like being in a town in China... i guess there is where the name China Town comes from.... hahahaha..... just off China Town there is a street where there are alot of stripclub, porn cinema and other dirty stuff. After having dinner at a Chinese restaurant in China Town(we had roasted duck, 'kampo kai'(not nice),roasted pork(not nice) and vegie), we went back home and that was the end of our trip to San Francisco....

Nice leh? I am suppose to wait and open the door for the washing machine repairman who was suppose to come between 8am and 12pm.
yea, the washing machine broke down and I havent done my laundry for 2 week already.....
Anyway, my host told me that he left a cheque on the table that he has signed and everything, and ask me to write the ammount needed on the cheque to pay the repairman later...
I told him I never write a cheque bfr so he ask me to go downstairs and he showed me how.....
So now I know how to write a cheque and it is a little different from back in Malaysia...
But it dint really matter cuz the repairman showed up 10 minutes after that and my host stayed till he was done and paid him himself.... So much for waking up early to wait for the repairman and learning how to write a cheque...

Was hungry so I opened the fridge and found a little bit of milk left.... Pour myself a glass and took a glup.... only to find that the freaking milk had gone bad and sour... Shit! Tasted horrible!
That was my first time drinking bad milk... Guess I have to check expirery date liau next time...
That night, my host taught me how to barbeque salmon and I did a good job! The salmon was delicious! We had salmon, salad and corn. Wonderful dinner! ^-^

After dinner, my friend, Thomas, called me asked me if I wanna go watched movie mah... So happy cuz finally got to do something.... Was at home the whole time last week cuz my friends had a roadtrip to LA and Vegas while I am at home sien till my brain out!
One of the Indo fren came pick me up in his new Nissan SUV! Damn nice car! I think the car cost US$33000...... Rich bastard! hahahaha...
Anyway, I finally met Thomas's girlfriend that night... So only 4 of us that night....
On the way to the cinema, they told me about their trip... Preety interesing stories.....
At the cinema, Thom gf said she wanna watch Material Girls at 10pm, so we also have to watch loh... Thought can sneak in to another movie after we done with that movie but turned out that the cinema closes at midnight! Sakai 1! And only 4 of us watching Material Girls that time! Luckily we not watching horror movie or it will be damn creepy! Afrter that we went play pool beside the cinema....they played, i just watched... Thomas damn pro.. that fellow must have been playing everyday in Singapore..... After that go back home sleep

Next day wake up at 11am...... Chris picked me up at 2.30pm and said that Thomas and his gf still sleeping... suppose to go look for apartment for Thom at noon but he still sleeping. So we went over his place and woke them up, Thom and his gf... They somemore can scold us for waking them up... wat the hell! hahaha... So decided to eat KFC with rice...So Christian cook some rice and then me and him go buy KFC... 9 pieces of chicken with 2 large side dishes for 11 bucks only... damn cheap!
So yalah, had lunch at Thomas house... KFC with rice! highly unusual! I found out that in Indonesia they usually eat KFC with rice deh! Cacat right?! And the Indonesian Chinese eat rice with their hands just like Malay! Wat the hell right?
After lunch, we went hunting for apartment but cant find the one that Thomas like cuz he so picky and most of the leasing office close at 5! Hahahaha.....
So after calling it a day, we went to a salon so that I can cut my hair. My hair was turning into a birdnest and I wanted to look nice when I meet my sis who is arriving in US that night... So I got a hairct for 8 bucks, consider very cheap already, and i tip 1 buck.... After that they fetch me home and I waited for my sis. John fetched my sis from the airport and then at 10pm we all went out for dinner at a Chinese restaurant in Milpitas.. The food was excellent! Had char siu(roasted pork), roasted duck, tofu and vegetables. End up spending the night at John's place cuz dint want to bother him sending me home cuz very far....
Next day, my sis fren and John's sister, Caroline, arrived in US at noon... After lunch we all went to San Jose State University... We went around the campus which is kinda big and nice.... But foooyoh! damn alot of preety girls there! n_n
After that went to Costco to do grocery shopping and Fry's. Had dinner at a indian and pakistani restaurant! Damn nice!! The tandorri chicken is the best I have ever had! Took the name and address of the place so that I can come back again with my frens next time! Living with a white family. My host is a manager of a construction company. His wife is a gred 6 teacher. They have 4 children. Chris is 26 yrs old and is staying here until he finds his own place. He never went to college, yet he is earning way more than a 100k US$ a year doing something to do with computers and sales. Eric, 23 yrs old, is now in Colorado studying in graduate school as a vet. Jeff and Suzanne is 20 yrs old and are studying in UC Santa Cruz and they live in Santa Cruz. There are four dogs in the house which are super cute, obedient and spoilt (they are allowed to go on the sofa and sleep on the bed) ........

So, every month I am paying $750 as rent. They supposely cook for me dinner 4 times a week but my host said that whenever they have dinner, I can have them too. They cook good food. Usually have beef burger, steak, chicken, occasionaly salmon, and lots more. And they also allowed me to eat watever food is in the house. So basically breakfast and lunch I would eat at home, either eating leftovers or I cook something simple like eggs, hot dogs and spiced chicken. They have wireless internet so I get to use it as well and do not have to subscribe my own internet. There is a big television in the living room which has a lot of channels, maybe a 100, and usually I am the one with the TV all by myself. I have a resonably big room to myself and a big bathroom as well. Only me and Cris are sharing the bathroom. The house has a big compund which is kinda neat.

The problem is when I wanna go to somewhere. Have to walk 15 minutes to the bus stop whenever I wanna take a bus. And the bus is so infrequent, every half hour. But this is nothing compared to Dao

who is cycling half hour everytime to go to college. CRAZY! Anyway, just few days ago, my host lend me his son's bike. So now I have a bike and it is so much easier to go somewhere. And in the evening, I would longkai around the neighbourhood and look at beautiful big houses. The neighbourhood is so so big but yet it is so quiet. Hardly see anyone around!

They are a good family and are treating me nicely. They joke alot and I do also joke with them. They bring me to places as well like to the beach, to rockclimbing, to swim at the pool at the neighbours, and for vacation. So far, I went with Eric and his friends
Suzanne to Lake Taho. It was fun and the scenery there was breathtaking. Too bad I dint have camera then..

All in all, life is not bad for me in US..! Thank God!

So something interesting happened today. A divorce mom and her daughter and son moved in to the house today. So i guess i have new housemates now. I am not sure how long they gonna stay... The son is younger than me and the daughter is probably 1-2 years older than me.. I dont know yet, maybe the same age as me... Cant really tell by their face. Anyway, she is kinda hot, so woot! :P

K lah, dont want to write anymore, or some people will say me lo soh~~

My First Post - The REASONS....

Ok, I guess I am starting to blog now after inspired by Eileen and Daowen's blog and after overcoming my lazyness....

Biggest reason why I am so reluctant to blog is cuz I am phobia of writing... after my spring quarter of English class....... x_x I have to write 4 essays of 4 - 5 pages, double space, which is around 1500 to 2000 words each essay..... Each essay is given 2 weeks to write..... in high school which I only need to write 350 words.... and now 1500 words? Wat the hell?!!!

The process of completing a final draft of an essay required me to write several drafts first with changes and corrections upon each drafts until I am satisfied and hope the final draft will fetch a good gred.... I probably spend minimum 8 hours total to complete an essay.......exculding the first whole week of stressing abt it..... That is when my phobia of writing began..... To add up to this phobia, the first 3 of my essays got a C - wat the hell!! - in which 2 of that essays I had to spend another few more hours revisng and submit in in order to get a better gred...!
The other essay, my teacher said was beyond repair...... T-T

If that wasnt bad enough, twice a week, we have to read something and post our opinion that will be given marks that will contribute to the final gred on the Google group discussion board online...... The reading material aint easy to read... If average up, every sentence will have 2-3 words I do not understand. At first very rajin look up the word on the dictionary, after 15 minutes, jelak liau. So i skipped many words and only find the words that will cause me to totally not understand watever the heck the writer is trying to say. Even with the words understood, I still cant understand watever i am reading. Usually I will read a sentence or a pharragraph 4 or 5 times, thinking that will help me understand, but usually never did... In the end, have to use my own imagination and make the best out wat the writer is writing. It was a nightmare. Blaming my english 'char-ness' on Malaysia education system for not focusing on English and myself too for not improving my English, but mostly on the Malaysia education system.......
Worst of 70% of the time, my interpretation is wrong..... T-T
The required words of the posted opinion is 200-300 words per post, but I usually wrote more than 400 words...
Why?, u might ask....
Kiasu mah!! Needed the marks ok!!......

Last but not the freaking least, I have to read a 247-page of a who-the-hell-read-this novel named Gilead in 1 & 1/2 week time, which is utterly boring and a grandfather story, literally(it was a letter a 79 year old dying pastor wrote to his son in the future, not a son who is gonna be born in the future, but his 7 year old son who is gonna grow up in the future..... sounds boring already eh...). Typically, I end up not understanding many parts of the novel but luckily at the end the teacher gave us a reading guide to help understand the novel. And then I have to write a 2 page book review on the novel. Holy shit!!~~

All these was done in almost three months time. At the end, a phobia of writing was contracted in me............ which then explains why I am so lazy to write emails and messages to people... Every single time I think of writing, it is always 'I have to' and my whole body will lose energy...!

But on the bright side, blogging is kinda cool and fun.. I will be able to blog cool things that are happening in my life which is so much cooler and exciting now that I am in US....
And blogging can improve my writing skill as my English teacher said to improve in writing, you have to write more...

So, there you go, my first blog post...... Wo0t!

2.30 am liau..wanna go sleep....freaking tired! Hopefully this wont be my first and last post..! wakakka!
